Major General Vikram Joshi, is an alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers in 270 Engr Regt in Feb 1989. He is a graduate in Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engg & Technology, Patiala and Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. The General Officer has attended various important career courses which include Senior Command Course and Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow and attended prestigious National Defence College Course at New Delhi. He is MSc in Defence Studies, PG Diploma in Mgmt and M Phil in Defence Studies.
The General Officer has considerable experience in varied operational assignments across India and in Srilanka during Op PAWAN. He commanded 112 Engr Regt in Deserts and was Chief Engineer of a Strike Corps. The General Officer has rich staff experience at all levels incl AMS in MS Branch, GSO1(Ops) of a Corps in Cl Ops, Col Q (Ops) of a Strike Corps, Col GS (Concepts/Engrs) at ARTRAC and DDG Comb Engrs at E-in-C's Branch, after which he was promoted to Major General on 01 May 2018 and posted as chief Engineer South Western Comd.
He is married to Mrs Anjali Joshi who is Masters in History. She is a home maker and is pursuing her hobbies of art and craft. The couple have a son, Kanishk who has recently completed his BCom from Delhi University and daughter Aina who has completed her 12th class recently from Bloom Public School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
