Major General Pawan Anand was commissioned in 1983 from IMA, with the “Sword of Honour”. Prior to this, he was awarded the “Presidents’ Gold Medal” on passing out from NDA. He commanded an Armoured Engineer Regiment (the Regiment he was commissioned into), was Commander an Engineer Brigade, Commandant of an Engineer Group & Centre before proceeding for NDC, and Chief Engineer South Western Command. He has been Instructor CI ‘C’ and CI ‘B’ at IMA, Dehradun and Instructor CI ‘A’ at Tac Wing CME, Pune. He completed his B. Tech in 1990 from Collage of Military Engineering, and was selected for all important course of the Indian Army such as DSSC, SC, HDMC and NDC. He has held the staff appointments of Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade during OP VIJAY, Col Adm of a Counter Insurgency Force, DDG Proc Org in MGO Branch (Army HQ) where he handled foreign procurement of spares and ammunition for the Indian Army and Dy MS-12. He was Additional Chief Engineer (Works) in HQ Southern Command, after he was promoted to Major General in Dec 2016. He has been awarded Commendation Cards the COAS and GOC-in-C Western comd. He is now tenating the appointment of ADG ESP since May 2018.
